Like he’s an actor that’s ecstatic to be the the Doctor. He still doesn’t feel like THE Doctor. He’s presumptuous.

I know I’ve already reblogged this, but it’s so nice not to feel alone.

I don’t disagree, but Smith’s Doctor has always been really, really, really full of himself. The speech at the end of The Eleventh Hour, or the Pandorica Speech, or any one of those “DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I AM” moments that started to attract more danger than repel it. And that’s by design. Hence the entire storyline from Demon’s Run on: It took the Doctor facing his own death to understand that he’s no longer putting his friends in jeopardy because of his adventures, he’s putting his friends in jeopardy simply for being who he is.
